The Philippine-American Education Foundation (PAEF) is calling for applications to host Fulbright Specialists from the United States for the fiscal year 2020.

The Fulbright Specialist Program sends U.S. faculty and professionals to other countries to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects in academic institutions for two to six weeks. Fulbright Specialists are a diverse group of highly experienced, well-established faculty members and professionals who represent a wide variety of academic disciplines and professions.

The program allows Philippine universities, cultural centers, non-governmental organizations, and other institutions to develop collaborative projects which host a leading U.S. academic or professional at their institution to work on diverse, short-term collaborative projects focused on education and training. The Fulbright Specialist’s activities may include, among others:

  • Delivering seminars/workshops/trainings;
  • Consulting on faculty or workforce development;
  • Developing academic or training curricula and materials;
  • Lecturing at the graduate or undergraduate level;
  • Engaging in strategic or institutional planning; and
  • Conducting needs assessments or evaluations for a program/institution.

We wish to inform you that the Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) will conduct an Information Drive on the amended DOST Intellectual Property (IP)- related Policies to DOST offices. The activity will be held on 10-11 December 2019 in Park Inn by Radisson Davao (near SM Lanang)

Pursuant to the Philippine Technology Transfer Act of 2009 (Republic Act No. 10055), Chapter IX of the Act’s Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) requires the DOST to define its policy on IP and lay down institutional mechanisms for technology transfer activities. The two-day activity will provide discussions on the roles of DOST and its attached agencies as government funding agencies and research and development institutions in relations to technology transfer and commercialization.

In line with this, we are cordially inviting your researchers to attend the abovementioned activity together with your Technology Transfer and Business Development Officers (TTBDOs). Kindly fill out the Google Form here http://bit.ly/InfoDriveMindanao on or before 6 December 2019. We strongly suggest that the participants bring their own laptop during the event.
