The Regional Health Research and Development Consortium XI (RHRDC XI), the regional arm of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), together with the Regional Ethics Monitoring Board (REMB) XI, will hold a Basic Research Ethics Training on April 3- 4, 2023, via zoom. The objective of the training is to introduce the basic principles of protecting human participants in research, identify and apply general research ethical principles to Research Ethics Committee (REC) members, administrators, and researchers. 
 
In line with this, we are inviting your institution to send 2 participants coming from your REC and/or research committee to the training. Due to limited slots available, participants will baccepted on a first-come, first-served basis upon submission of one research protocol involving human participants with an Informed Consent form for the group workshop. Kindly conceal the institution before uploading the research protocol.

The Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) is pleased to announce the call for applications for the 2023 DOST-PCHRD Undergraduate Thesis Grant in Natural Products. The said program aims to sustain a research culture in natural products to increase the number of research and later on build a pool of researchers/experts specializing in the field. It supports the Tuklas Lunas program (Drug Discovery and Development Program) of the DOST-PCHRD, which aims to develop safe, effective, and affordable alternative drugs from the country’s natural resources.

The search is open to all undergraduate students of Colleges of Pharmacy, Chemistry, Nursing, and Health and Allied Sciences who have thesis proposals on natural products, specifically utilizing indigenous plants in the region. A thesis grant amounting to fifty thousand pesos (PHP 50,000.00) will be given to two (2) qualified thesis proposals per region.

Upon completion of the thesis project and submission of the required deliverables, six (6) finalists will be chosen to present their completed research during the Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) week celebration in August 2024, wherein the top three (3) winners will be selected. Cash prizes include PHP 30,000.00 for the first prize winner, PHP 22,000.00 for the second prize winner, and PHP 15,000.00 for the third prize winner.
