Through the assistance of the Foundation for the Advancement of Clinical Epidemiology, Inc., the seventeen health research and development consortia were gathered last January 11-12, 2018 at the Summit Galleria Cebu Hotel, Cebu City for a final consultative meeting regarding the development of the Technical Review Board (TRB) Manual of Operations (MOO). This is part of the project of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) to streamline and have a uniform process for all the consortia when it comes to the operation of the technical committees in reviewing proposals being endorsed to the council for funding. Furthermore, the manual will serve as a guide for the technical committees for a more efficient process of reviewing proposals and monitoring on-going funded studies. Lastly, the meeting became a venue for all the consortia to share their good practices and issues faced by their respective committees. Comments and suggestions raised were all accommodated, discussed and incorporated in the manual.

The meeting was attended by the Chairs of the consortia, Chairs/members of the technical committee and consortium secretariat.

The manual is scheduled to be distributed on March 2018 during the PCHRD Anniversary and will be implemented afterwards.

Last December 14, 2017, the Regional Health Research and Development Consortium (RHRDC XI) had its annual General Assembly and Graduation of its 1st batch of scholars at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases. Dr. Vicente, Chair of the consortium expressed his appreciation to the cheapest and at the same time expensive commodity each member gave for the consortium, TIME.
