The final module for the 2nd Mentorship Program focused more on the statistical analysis generally using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Last November 7 to 9, 2018, the Regional Health Research and Development Consortium XI (RHRDC XI), invited Dr. Felix C. Chavez for an intensive three-day lecture on data analysis and its applications using SPSS.

The objectives of the lecture are for the scholars to specify the appropriate statistical tests in their researches and interpret a sensible data analysis result. The scholars were given situational problems commonly used in most researches and how the SPSS can make the work easier with regards to computation and data analysis. Dr. Chavez further elaborated his lecture on the use of parametric and nonparametric statistics.

The passion to learn was observed thru the willingness of the scholars in the completion of the three modules. This will absolutely lead them to further become one of the region’s seasoned researchers. The consortium hopes that all these scholars will submit their completed proposal for 2019 Regional Research Funding to help improve the health condition of the people in the region.
