The Philippine Health Research Ethics Board Committee (PHREB) granted the Davao Regional Health Research and Development Consortium-Ethics Review Committee (RHRDC XI-ERC) a Level 1 Accreditation effective April 4, 2017 to April 3, 2018.
The Level 1 Accreditation means that the RHRDC XI-ERC demonstrates sufficient competency and efficiency in its ethical reviews and adheres to the appropriate standard operating procedures. Although the accreditation given was provisional, it still indicates that the RHRDC XI-ERC can continue to review research proposals while working on the recommendations of the PHREB-Committee on Standards and Accreditation.
As the national policy making body in health research ethics, PHREB implies that with the establishment of standards, ethics committees are able to conduct quality scientific and ethical review of research protocols and thereby ensure the safety and protection of the rights and welfare of the human participants in research.(PHREB)
The formal awarding of the Accreditation Certificate will be held as part of the Philippine National Health Research System Week Celebration on August 2017 at Cagayan de Oro City.###
