The Regional Health Research and Development Consortium XI (RHRDC XI) had a one day benchmarking with the Western Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (WVHRDC) last November 16, 2016.

Representatives from the four sub-committees of RHRDC XI namely Dr. Felix Chavez Jr from Research and Development committee, Ms. Ludivina Porticos from Human Resource and Development Committee, Dr. Lucila Lupo from Research Ethics Committee and Dr. Victoria Lupase from Research Information and Utilization Committee went to Iloilo City to meet the heads of WVHRDC. This was to further intensify the support that the consortium provides by having a faster and more efficient way of reviewing the proposals for Regional Research Funding (RRF).

The WVHRDC shared their best practices and challenges in implementing their Training Award in Health Research for Region VI Scholars. This award is a six-month course which WVHRDC started in 2011. Intended for young local researchers in region 6, it has already produced scholars and funded various proposals. RHRDC XI plans to implement similar program that will fit to the needs of the local researchers in region 11.
